Services
Leisure Acres is only minutes from the emergency, governmental and daily-living services you've come to expect from any city or suburban community.

Two hospitals, hundreds of doctors' offices, emergency services, police, fire and the American Red Cross are only a few miles away. The Sebring Police Department and the Highlands County Sheriff's Office both patrol Leisure Acres on a regular basis. Ambulance services are less than five minutes away and Highlands Regional Medical Center a full-service hospital is visible from the community's entrance.

City and county offices as well as utility services are right downtown, a short jaunt around Lake Jackson. Nearly all state and federally elected officials maintain offices in Highlands County and are readily available to their Sebring constituents.

Grocery stores are literally right across the street from Leisure Acres as well as banks, gas stations, restaurants, movie rental stores and shopping galore in standalone shops and Lakeshore Mall. There's even a satellite post office less than three miles north on U.S. 27.

There are plenty of nationwide civic organizations with chapters in Sebring including Kiwanis, Lions and Rotary Clubs along with scores of veterans organizations. And Highlands County residents put tremendous emphasis on volunteerism. There are literally dozens of organizations that function solely on voluntary efforts, many of which are coordinated by RSVP (retired senior volunteer program).

Keep informed about the community with two newspapers, the News-Sun (owned by the New York Times) and Tampa Tribune/Highlands Today (owned by Media General). There are several locally-owned radio stations including country, talk radio and classic rock. As for television, local news is provided by WOCX-TV5.
