Leisure Acres is located in Sebring on the diagonal corridor between Tampa and Orlando. Situated on U.S. Highway 27, its central location puts the community less than 200 miles from 80 percent of the state's population and all of Florida's most notable attractions.

Tampa, Orlando and Lakeland are all less than two hours away. Miami, Naples, Gainesville and Ocala are only a little further. Then there's a host of the state's best beaches including St. Petersburg, Clearwater, Sarasota, Marco Island, Ft. Lauderdale, West Palm Beach, Cocoa, Daytona and Titusville.

As for attractions, there's the Disney complex, Universal Studios, Kennedy Space Center, Busch Gardens, Cypress Gardens, Silver Springs ­ and that's only the beginning. For those who love the outdoors, nothing beats the Florida Everglades and the Florida Keys.

Leisure Acres is right on U.S. 27 which travels the full length of the state. I-4 and Florida's Turnpike are within easy reach as well.

But there's no need to leave Highlands County to find good outdoor recreation venues. Locally there's Highlands Hammock State Park, which offers a full-service campground. The historic Kissimmee River is nearby as well as the scenic Lake Wales Ridge, home to flora and fauna found nowhere else in the world. And don't forget the fishing in some of the state's best known lakes including Lake Jackson, Lake Istokpoga and Lake Okeechobee.

What about golf? How about almost two-dozen courses within a 15-minute drive. From executive 9-holers to championship quality 18-hole courses, there's a set of fairways for every skill level.

Then there are restaurants galore serving up food for just about every type of taste imaginable. And if you're into drama while you dine, check out the dinner shows at Highlands Little Theatre.

Perhaps arts and crafts are your thing. Within Highlands County, the three municipalities (Avon Park, Lake Placid and Sebring) all offer dozens of shows throughout the year. Many of these events are tied to such annual events as the Florida Citrus Balloon Festival and the historic 12 Hours of Sebring Grand Prix of Endurance at the Sebring International Raceway.

When it comes to proximity and accessibility to local and statewide attractions, there's no better Florida living opportunity than Leisure Acres.
